Today was Lily's 9 month check-up (a day early)!! I can't believe we've reached 9 months already! *sigh*
First of all, she weighs 16lbs 10oz (23%) and she's 27 1/8" long (50%). Her head is only 11% but that is consistant with her growth curve, so it's perfect! She is perfectly healthy and her Dr gave her a clean bill of health!
The Dr's office started doing developmental screenings just since her last appointment so I got to fill out a questionaire about what she is and is not doing yet (although the survey for Lily's age group was designed for 10 month olds...). She scored below average (for a 10 month old) in her gross motor skills....mainly because she is not crawling or pulling up yet. The Dr was not concerned. She is not far behind average and a lot can, and most likely will, change in one month! She scored EXTREMELY high (for a 10 month old!) in both fine motor and problem solving skills! It's completely likely that she's been busy developing those skills and neglecting her gross motor skills, which is common. By fine motor they mean things like picking up small objects and hand/eye coordination and by problem solving they mean banging toys and finding hidden objects.
Also, lately she's been reaching farthur and farthur for things that get away from her. As she leans forward she tucks one of her legs behind....it's just a couple steps away from crawling (not that I'm looking forward to her mobility!)! She is learning new things all the time! It's just amazing to see her figure new things out!
